Malaysia’s clubbing scene is ever changing. Clubs are constantly being re-designed to cater to the changing tastes of their customers. Majority of the clubbers start showing up around 11pm. All clubs are required to close by 3 am, according to Malaysian law. The main place to be on a weekend in Kuala Lumpur would be at Asian Heritage Row off Jalan Tun Ismail. The street has everything from alfresco dining to the hottest clubs in Malaysia.
The Loft would be an ideal place. It holds Mezza Notte, an Italian restaurant and as well as a sushi bar. Not only that, but Loft itself contains 3 other clubs. Space, is a current hot spot, along with Cynna Lounge and the Upstairs Club. Like its name, the environment has its high standards and sloppy behavior (clothing included) are not allowed. Weekends are usually the peak times, and booking a table might be necessary. Prices will vary, as each club has a different cover charge for different days of the night. Clubbers can expect either a free entrance, or a maximum of RM45 cover charge. This all depends on which day of the week it is.

Numerous other clubs can be found along Asian Heritage Row, and are all within walking distance between one another. Another popular choice would be Maisons. Five heritage salons were merged to create this club. The interior itself blends concepts of its heritage, through the bare brick wall, while taking into account modern Malaysia with its classy chandeliers and girls-only podium situated in the center of the club. Similarly to Loft, cover charge varies each night. Thursday’s are free for the girls, while the guys will have to fork out RM30. On different nights, don’t expect to pay more than RM35 for the entrance.

Another popular bar for among the ladies is Sunshine, at the end of Heritage Row. Thursday nights, ladies will be treated to free flows of alcohol. You can enjoy live blues music from Wednesday nights till Friday. Along with a dance floor, others can opt to shoot pool in the club instead. Sunshine bar caters to a more retro crowd, with their in house band which plays the entire night, to their retro music and interior. This bar is also a better option for those who prefer a less crowded environment.

Bar club was recently renovated, taking up three shop outlets to create the large club. It not only consists of a dance floor with bar, but also a restaurant, lounge, as well as karaoke rooms. There are a total of 6 differently themed karaoke rooms which take up the first floor of the club. Bar club plays a variety of music, ranging from R&B, retro, house, and trance. Patrons can sit down for an alfresco meal outside the club surrounded by water features and the view of the Petronas Twin Towers. Indoor dining is also another option.
